Milwaukee Salvage Co.

Concept

Overview

This project was completed for my Special Topics Studio, fall semester of 2016. The Salvation Army non-profit organization wanted to create a chic boutique that showcased their high end donated goods as well as a home goods section.

For this project, the site for the boutique was given as well as a new logo that would represent the Milwaukee Salvage Co. It would be an upscale space that allowed high end thrifting and creating a chic and trendy boutique catering to the millennials. The boutique that gives back to the community. Revit was used to create this project.

This design will create a modern and trendy space that will appeal to the main target users, millennials, ages 17-31. With pops of bold colors and prints, neutral colors, and a mix of metal finishes, this will create an eclectic blend of styles to emphasize the underlying theme of constellations that represents individuality, nature, and networking. To create a focal on the clothing items and highlight the constellation theme, dark ceilings and floors will allow all of the attention on what the Milwaukee Salvation Company has to offer. Glass walls will be used to separate the display area from the rest of the boutique and will allow the natural lighting to come into the space during the day. At night, the unique light fixtures will replicate constellations throughout the space, yet give enough lighting to enhance the well-being of the users. This overall design will be modern and eclectic that will be inviting and comfortable for all users, making them want to come back for another experience by doing the most good.
